I was admitted to S'pore General Hospital on Halloween's,31st Oct 2006,right after my Vascular appointment. Actually almost two mths plus, my right hand had been from bad to worst. I had a fall during Intructor Prep Course in early Sept.At that point,my fingers felt pain,slowly swelled the hand. Seen Chinese physician for massage,saying internal veins are not in order,told me to seek Western medical help, A Doctor. Since I work in Army,stay-in personnel,I only seek help during weekends...so I see TTSH walk-in clinic,the doc. just passed me off as having NORMAL SWELLIN' and gave me anti-swell cream n painkillers onli,sumthin' I knew she has nuts abt wats the real prob...so another week or two I go to Ma Kuang Acupunture..still da same n by then my riht hand becoming cold,at times when i carry stuffs or use it often, it turns icy cold..pain it is but at work, pple took no serious notice of my suffering..a sad case indeed...seen my GP,after three weeks of medication,she gave up & referrred me to Specialist in SGH,that landed me at hospital...
My vascular specialist was shocked at my condition cause there was no pulse and my blood flow,for most arteries were dead! They said this is anormal for someone young like me hence I was sent for ultrasound scan & found to have major arteries blocked with bloodclot. My diagnosis is R. subclavian artery & brachial artery thrombosis S/P thrombectomy.
Idun know what dat means.Anyway I'm on medical leave now..spent close two wks in hospital...and thru my stay, I knew who my frenz really were...I didn't inform all friends,juz a bunch I am comfy with but from there,those who came, proved to be those who cared...thanks for coming despite their busy lives..some promised their arrival but no news till now...thanks for being a "fren" since then...now I know whose friends & fiends...I might be due to go for another ops again...depends on my surgeon nw...I'm on warfarin now to thin my blood so as to prevent bloodclots in future as there's some still ard...on lifetime medications...lucky i can stop the injections..till Monday, i had to self-inject medication in my body...painful it is...i am very sad...my stay in hospital made me thought a lot of issues...about life..love..friends & work...i treasure people dear to me now...i still pending another ops on my neck/shoulder...gosh i wonder whats my real prob coz team of surgeons told me this is rare,very rare on young person like me,furthermore with my active life...maybe dugaan Allah...i am trying to adjust with only left hand to do things...tiring to type but i believe i have to blogged about it...till then...take care people...
